14% Sodium Hypochlorite Solution 25 L

Sodium Hypochlorite is a highly effective disinfectant that eliminates a broad range of microorganisms, including bacteria, bacterial spores, moulds, yeasts, and viruses. Sodium Hypochlorite also removes staining, flavouring, and odours.

Use Instructions

Working concentrations of sodium hypochlorite depend on application and should be determined through testing. A 1% solution provides approximately 1800 ppm available chlorine. Avoid using chlorinated products above 50°C. This product is not intended for direct food contact but may be used for controlled produce washing.

Surface Disinfection

Sodium Hypochlorite is used as a disinfectant following thorough cleaning and rinsing. Recommended use concentration is 50 ppm to 500 ppm Av. Cl (0.03% to 0.3% v/v), with a contact time of 15 to 20 minutes. On food-contact surfaces, rinse with potable water after a contact time of 15 to 20 minutes.

Drain Disinfection

Sodium hypochlorite is effective as a drain disinfectant, including against Listeria. Flush drains with water before applying sodium hypochlorite at 50–500 ppm, as heavy soil can reduce antimicrobial effectiveness. Ensure acid is not released into shared or interlocking drainage systems.

Vegetable and Produce Washing

Sodium hypochlorite can be used for vegetable washing at 50–200 ppm free chlorine. Maintain pH between 7 and 8 using food-grade citric acid and an automatic dosing system. If pH drops below 6, chlorine gas may be released. After washing, spin dry or rinse produce with potable water. For non-rinse applications, ensure produce is residue-free before consumption.
